Last updated: 13 October 2026. ## Who we are Maniero Montecassiano is a privately owned villa that we rent out for weddings, retreats and holidays. Amber van Leeuwen, who runs Maniero Montecassiano, is responsible for your personal data (the “controller” under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR). We use them only to reply, to send you information and an offer, and to follow up on your enquiry. Legal basis: steps you ask us to take before a contract (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). ### When you book For the rental agreement and payments we need the name, address, date of birth and contact details of the person booking, and payment records. Italian law also requires us to register every guest’s identity with the police (Alloggiati Web) and to send anonymous statistics to the Region (ISTAT). Legal basis: performing our contract with you (art. 6(1)(b)) and our legal obligations (art. 6(1)(c)). ### When you visit this website We count visits with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly statistics service. It uses no cookies, does not store your IP address and cannot identify you; we only see totals such as how many people visited, which pages were read and which website sent them. Our hosting provider keeps short technical logs to keep the site secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving the website (art. 6(1)(f)). ### Cookies This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. If you open the virtual tour, play a video hosted elsewhere or follow a link to Instagram or WhatsApp, those services apply their own privacy policies. ## Who else handles your data We never sell your data or use it for advertising. We use a small number of services to run Maniero, which process data on our behalf: - Render (website hosting) - FormSubmit (delivers the enquiry form to our inbox) - Google Workspace / Gmail (our email, calendar and documents) - GoatCounter (anonymous visitor statistics) - WhatsApp (only if you contact us there) - our accountant, for invoices and tax records We share your details with a wedding planner, caterer or other supplier only when you ask us to put you in touch. Some of these services are based outside the EU, for example in the United States; where that happens, the transfer is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. ## How long we keep it - Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to two years after our last contact, then deleted. - Contracts, invoices and payment records: as long as Italian tax law requires, usually ten years. - Guest registration: sent to the authorities as the law requires; we keep no copies of identity documents after your stay. ## Your rights You can ask us at any time to see the details we hold about you, to correct or delete them, to limit how we use them, or to receive them in a portable format. You can also object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Just email manieromontecassiano@gmail.com; we reply within one month.
