Destination Weddings in Italy
Why should we have a destination wedding in Italy?
Because Italy is Italy. The food, the wine, the light, the way everything slows down the second you arrive — there's a reason it's the most dreamed-about wedding destination in the world. But here's our honest take: a destination wedding in Italy shouldn't just look beautiful in photos, it should feel beautiful. That means your guests actually relaxing, not rushing between tourist hotspots. It means eating food made by people who genuinely care, not a catering factory. And it means choosing a place that feels like yours for the weekend — not a conveyor belt that processes 50 weddings a season. That's exactly why we created Maniero.
What makes Maniero different from other Italian wedding venues?
We only host around 10 events per year. That's it. No back-to-back weddings, no time slots, no feeling like you're just another booking in someone's calendar. When you come to Maniero, you're coming to our home — literally. We (Amber and Fabrizio) host every single group personally. We'll pour you wine during your venue tour, cook you dinner, and actually get to know you. On top of that, this place is designed for fun: a private padel court, an indoor arcade hall, beach volleyball, a 20-metre pool, jacuzzi, sauna, outdoor cinema. We're not your typical "pretty but boring" venue — we're the venue where groomsmen play padel while bridesmaids get ready, and where everyone ends up at the pool the next morning swapping stories.
What does a wedding weekend at Maniero actually look like?
Think of it as a three-part celebration. It usually starts with an aperitivo — your guests arriving, clinking Prosecco glasses with the medieval town of Montecassiano as the backdrop. Then comes the ceremony under the sprawling branches of a century-old olive tree surrounded by ancient cypresses. After that, an unforgettable Italian dinner celebrating the best of Marchigiano cuisine. The next morning? A hangover brunch and pool party that somehow becomes the most talked-about part of the entire weekend. In between, your guests are playing padel, lounging by the pool, battling in the arcade hall, and making memories that have nothing to do with a schedule and everything to do with having the time of their lives.
Will our wedding feel personal or will it feel like a "venue"?
This is something we care about deeply. We started Maniero because we were frustrated with venues that treated us like a number. You won't get a sales pitch here — you'll get a home-cooked dinner and a proper conversation. Every wedding at Maniero is different because every couple is different. We don't have a formula or a standard package. We work with you to figure out what feels right for your people, your style, your budget. And because we only host around 10 events a year, we have the time and energy to genuinely invest in making yours extraordinary.
What do you mean by an "authentic" Italian wedding?
We mean a wedding that actually feels Italian — not a Pinterest version of Italy. At Maniero, the food is prepared by local Marchigiano caterers using ingredients from the region. The olive oil comes from our own 400+ olive trees. The wine is local. The vibe is long dinners under the stars, Aperol flowing freely, real conversations, and nobody rushing you off the dance floor because another event is coming in tomorrow. An authentic Italian wedding isn't about ticking aesthetic boxes — it's about how it feels: unhurried, warm, generous, and completely natural.
Why Le Marche, not Tuscany
Why Le Marche and not Tuscany?
This is probably our most-asked question, and we love it. Look, Tuscany is gorgeous — nobody's denying that. But Tuscany in 2026 is overcrowded, overpriced, and honestly over-Instagrammed. The rolling hills and cypress trees are iconic, sure, but the venues charge a fortune, the local vendors have "destination wedding" pricing baked into everything, and you often feel like one of dozens of couples being processed through the same venue each summer. Le Marche has the same rolling hills, the same olive groves and vineyards, the same ancient stone villages — but without the crowds and without the inflated prices. The restaurants are still run by locals. The wine is still priced for people who actually live here. When your guests drive through Montecassiano, they feel like they've discovered something real, not followed a well-worn tourist trail. That feeling of discovery? That's priceless, and Tuscany can't offer it anymore.
What about the Amalfi Coast or Lake Como?
Both are stunning — and both are among the most expensive wedding destinations in Europe. Amalfi is breathtaking for a holiday, but logistically it's a nightmare for a wedding: narrow winding roads, limited venue space, extreme peak-season pricing, and your guests will spend half the weekend stuck in traffic or waiting for boats. Lake Como is similar — jaw-dropping scenery, but the exclusivity comes with a price tag that can make your eyes water, and many of the lakeside villas feel more like luxury hotels than a personal celebration. Le Marche gives you that authentic Italian beauty at a fraction of the cost, with the space, the privacy, and the personal touch those famous regions can't match at the same budget. At Maniero you get an entire boutique estate to yourselves — try getting that in Positano.
How does Le Marche compare to Umbria or Puglia?
Umbria is lovely and less touristy than Tuscany, but it's landlocked and doesn't have the coastal access that Le Marche offers — we're just 25 minutes from the Adriatic Sea. Puglia has incredible food and beautiful masserie, but it's much further south, which means longer travel times for European guests and extreme heat in summer. Le Marche sits in the sweet spot: central enough to be easily accessible (2.5 hours from Rome, 40 km from Ancona airport), coastal enough for beach day trips, and cool enough in the hills for comfortable outdoor celebrations. Plus, the cost of vendors in Le Marche is still genuinely local, which isn't always the case in Puglia's increasingly popular wedding market.
Is Le Marche hard to get to?
Not at all. The nearest international airport is Ancona Falconara, with direct flights from cities all over Europe. Rome Fiumicino is about 2.5 hours by car or train, making it easy for guests flying in from further afield. And honestly, the drive from Rome through the Italian countryside is part of the experience — your guests will already be in holiday mode before they even arrive. Maniero is 40 km from Ancona, 117 km from Perugia, and 253 km from Rome.
What is there to see and do in Le Marche?
So much more than people expect. The medieval hilltop town of Montecassiano is right on our doorstep and it's stunning. Nearby Macerata has a beautiful historic centre and the famous open-air Sferisterio opera arena. Recanati is the birthplace of the poet Leopardi and has incredible views. The Adriatic coast is just 25 minutes away with sandy beaches and fresh seafood restaurants. For day trips, you've got the Frasassi Caves, the Sibillini Mountains for hiking, and charming port towns like Numana and Sirolo. And everywhere you go, there are local wineries, olive oil producers, and trattorias serving food that will ruin every other Italian restaurant for you forever.
Budget & Pricing
How much does a destination wedding at Maniero actually cost?
Here's the part most venues dance around, but we'll give it to you straight. For a typical destination wedding at Maniero — including the venue, accommodation for your closest guests in the villa, catering, drinks, music, decoration, and all the essentials — you're looking at roughly €600 to €1,000 per person, all-in. That's everything. No hidden costs, no surprise line items, no "oh and that'll be €700 extra for the fairy lights." We're transparent about pricing because we hated the sneaky fees when we were planning our own wedding. Your budget goes further in Le Marche than it would in Tuscany, Amalfi, or Lake Como — significantly further.
What does the €600–€1,000 per person typically include?
The venue hire for the weekend (the entire estate exclusively yours), accommodation for your closest guests in the villa, professional catering for the wedding dinner and brunch, drinks and wine, music or DJ, basic decoration and florals, and use of all the amenities — pool, padel court, arcade, sound system, tables, chairs, everything. The range depends on your choices: a more intimate wedding with 40 guests and a simple but stunning setup might sit closer to €600 per person, while a larger celebration with 80–100 guests, a live band, and more elaborate styling might approach €1,000.
Is Le Marche really cheaper than Tuscany?
Yes, and it's not a small difference. Comparable venue hire in Tuscany's Chianti region can run 40–60% more than an equivalent property in Le Marche, and that's before you factor in the premium supplier costs that come with being in a high-demand tourist area. In Le Marche, the caterers, florists, photographers, and musicians are all world-class — but they charge local prices, not destination-wedding-tourist prices. For couples who want to put their budget into the experience rather than the postcode, Le Marche is simply the smarter choice.
Are there hidden costs?
No, and we feel strongly about this. When we were venue-hunting for our own wedding, we were horrified by the hidden fees: €700 for lights that were already there, €5 per person to cut a cake we'd already paid for, extra charges for things that should be standard. At Maniero, what you see is what you get. Tables, chairs, sound system, lighting, outdoor and indoor spaces — it's all included. We work with trusted local partners for catering, flowers, photography, and music, and we'll help you build a package that fits your budget without any nasty surprises.
Can we do a beautiful wedding on a normal budget?
That's literally why we exist. You don't need to spend €15,000 on flowers to have a breathtaking wedding. You don't need a castle with 200 guests to make it special. Some of the most incredible weddings we've hosted have been intimate celebrations where the couple put their budget into amazing food, great wine, and a weekend their favourite people will never forget. Le Marche makes this possible because the cost of living is lower, the vendors are honest, and the setting does most of the work for you. Centuries-old olive trees, rolling Italian hills, a beautifully designed villa — that's your backdrop without spending a fortune on styling.
The Villa & The Estate
How many guests can we invite to a wedding?
Maniero can host weddings of up to 100 guests. The villa itself sleeps up to 18 guests across 8 bedrooms — six rooms with two single beds each, and two rooms with king-sized beds. There's also a separate apartment opposite the main villa with an additional bedroom, bathroom, and living room. For the rest of your guests, we work with carefully selected hotels in nearby Macerata and Montecassiano, so everyone is well looked after and never more than a short drive away.
Do you work with local hotels for guest accommodation?
Yes. We've built great relationships with several hotels in the area. Whether your guests want a charming boutique stay in the medieval town of Montecassiano, something in nearby Macerata, or a more budget-friendly option, we can point them in the right direction and help coordinate. This means you can have your closest people staying in the villa with you for the most intimate experience, while the rest of your guests are comfortable and nearby — an intimate villa wedding with room for everyone you love.
Can we have the villa exclusively for the whole weekend?
Absolutely. When you book Maniero, the entire estate is yours. No shared spaces, no other guests, no strangers wandering through your photos. It's your home for the weekend. This is what makes a stay at Maniero feel so different from a hotel or a shared venue — from the moment you arrive, every corner of this place is yours. The same applies for retreats and holidays: exclusivity is always guaranteed.
How big is the estate?
The estate spans about 4 hectares (10 acres) of gated, private land. That gives you plenty of space for everything: the villa, the pool area, the padel court, beach volleyball, the kids' playground, the olive groves, and expansive terraces with panoramic views. It's big enough that 100 wedding guests never feel crowded, but intimate enough that it still feels like a private home rather than a hotel complex.
Who are Amber and Fabrizio?
We're the couple behind Maniero — and we literally live here. Amber is Dutch, Fabrizio is half Italian, and together we have two very bossy little kids (Abigail and Freddie) who think they run the place. We fell in love with this property, invested everything into turning it into the boutique villa we always wished existed, and have been hosting guests ever since. We're obsessed with interiors, addicted to good food, and total people-people. When you book Maniero, you're not dealing with a venue manager — you're hanging out with us.
Activities & Amenities
What activities are available at Maniero?
Where do we start? The estate is designed so there's always something to do, no matter your mood. For the sporty: a private padel court, a real-sand beach volleyball court, a 20-metre swimming pool, an indoor gym, and a basketball hoop. For the fun-seekers: an entire indoor arcade hall with billiards, table tennis, foosball, darts, air hockey, whack-a-mole, and a one-vs-one arcade game. For the relaxers: a jacuzzi, sauna, outdoor cinema, and firepit. For kids: a dedicated outdoor playground with trampoline. For everyone: XL chess and Jenga, yoga mats and a dedicated yoga area, and panoramic terraces made for long lazy lunches and sunset drinks. We built a mini resort, but one that feels like home.
Tell us more about the padel court.
The padel court has become the soul of Maniero — we didn't expect it, but it's true. It's a full-size, professional-standard court nestled between ancient olive trees with open views of the countryside. For weddings, it's where the groomsmen warm up in the morning while the bridal party gets ready, and where a hungover mini-tournament the next day somehow becomes the most talked-about part of the weekend. For retreats, we organise proper padel clinics with a local coach, round-robin tournaments, and training sessions. For holidays, it's where mornings start with a doubles match and rivalries are born that last a lifetime. No other boutique villa or wedding venue in Italy offers anything like it.
Can we book a padel coach?
Yes. We work with a great local padel coach who can come to the villa for private lessons, group clinics, or organised tournaments. It's hugely popular for retreats (we've hosted dedicated padel retreats) and it's a brilliant activity for holidays too. For weddings, some couples organise a mini-tournament as a pre-wedding activity — it's competitive, social, and a fantastic icebreaker for guests who don't know each other yet.
What's in the arcade hall?
Billiards, table tennis, foosball, air hockey, darts, a basketball shooting game, whack-a-mole, and a one-vs-one arcade game. It's indoors, so it works rain or shine, and it's become one of the most popular spots on the entire estate. At weddings, it's where guests disappear between courses. During retreats, it's the perfect team-building space. On holidays, it keeps everyone — kids and adults alike — entertained for hours.
Tell me about the swimming pool and wellness facilities.
The pool is 20 metres, surrounded by loungers, with a sound system around the pool area. It's the centrepiece of the estate during summer — the place where mornings start slow, afternoons get lazy, and post-wedding pool parties become legendary. For wellness, we have a jacuzzi, a sauna, and a dedicated outdoor yoga area with mats provided. For retreats, we can also arrange yoga instructors and massage therapists to come to the villa. The combination of sauna, jacuzzi, and pool makes for an incredible wellness circuit.
Is there an outdoor cinema?
Yes. We have both an indoor and outdoor cinema setup. The outdoor cinema is magical on warm Italian evenings — imagine watching a film under the stars with a glass of wine, surrounded by the countryside. It's perfect for a chill evening during a holiday, a unique activity during a retreat, or even screening a slideshow during a wedding weekend. We provide the beamer and sound system; you bring the popcorn (or, more likely, the Aperol).
Food, Wine & Catering
How does catering work at Maniero?
We work with carefully selected local caterers who share our philosophy: real food, honest pricing, no shortcuts. These are Marchigiano professionals who know this region's cuisine inside out and source their ingredients locally. You won't get a generic "wedding menu" here — you'll get a dining experience built around the best produce the season and the region have to offer. We'll connect you with our catering partners, help you plan the menu, and make sure the food is one of the highlights of your stay.
Can we hire a private chef?
Absolutely, and it's one of the best decisions you can make. We work with talented local chefs who can come to the villa and cook for you — whether that's a single special dinner, a full weekend of meals, or daily cooking during a holiday stay. Imagine fresh pasta made in front of you, local seafood from the Adriatic, and desserts that would make a Michelin-starred restaurant jealous, all served in the comfort of your own private villa. For holidays especially, having a private chef means you can completely switch off — no restaurant reservations, no cooking, just incredible food whenever you're ready.
What kind of food can we expect?
Marchigiano cuisine is one of Italy's great undersung culinary traditions. Think vincisgrassi (a rich, layered pasta dish that makes lasagne look ordinary), olive ascolane (fried stuffed olives that are essentially addictive), brodetto (a beautiful Adriatic fish stew), and incredible cured meats like ciauscolo. The wines are exceptional too — Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi is a white wine that holds its own against anything Italy produces. For weddings, we typically see a long Italian dinner with multiple courses, antipasti, local wine flowing, and dessert that never seems to end. For holidays and retreats, it's whatever you want — pizza nights by the outdoor oven, BBQs, seafood feasts, or a private chef creating something extraordinary.
Do you have a pizza oven and BBQ?
Yes to both. The outdoor area has a wood-fired pizza oven and a dedicated BBQ space, and they're both incredibly popular with guests. There's nothing quite like making your own pizza with a glass of local wine in hand, surrounded by the Italian countryside. For holidays, the BBQ area is perfect for relaxed group dinners.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Of course. Our catering partners are experienced with all dietary needs — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies, you name it. Italian cuisine is naturally accommodating (so much of it is built around fresh vegetables, olive oil, and simple ingredients), and our chefs are creative enough to make sure nobody feels like they're getting the "sad option." Just let us know when we're planning menus and we'll make sure everyone is looked after.
Is the olive oil really from your own trees?
Yes. We have over 400 olive trees on the estate, and the oil is pressed locally. It's liquid gold, honestly. Guests often ask if they can take some home — and yes, you can, check out our shop. There's something special about knowing the olive oil on your wedding dinner table came from the same trees your ceremony was held under.
Retreats, Holidays & Events
What kind of retreats can we host at Maniero?
Pretty much anything you can dream up. We've hosted padel retreats, yoga retreats, wellness weekends, business workations, creative workshops, and team-building events. The beauty of Maniero is that it's flexible — we provide the venue, the amenities, and the support, and you shape the programme around your vision. Whether you're an entrepreneur running a mastermind retreat, a yoga teacher organising a week of practice in Italy, or a company looking for a team offsite that people actually enjoy, this is the place.
Can we host a padel retreat?
This is one of our specialities. Our professional-standard padel court, combined with a local padel coach, makes Maniero one of the best padel retreat venues in Italy. We can organise coaching sessions, round-robin tournaments, video analysis, and structured training programmes. Between sessions, your group has the pool, the arcade, the gym, and the incredible Le Marche countryside to explore. Add a private chef for the meals and you've got a padel retreat that nobody will ever forget.
Is Maniero suitable for a yoga retreat?
Absolutely. We have a dedicated outdoor yoga area surrounded by olive trees and countryside views — the kind of backdrop that makes your practice feel transcendent. We provide yoga mats, and we can connect you with experienced local yoga instructors. Combine that with the sauna, jacuzzi, pool, healthy catering from our kitchen partners, and the general serenity of the Le Marche countryside, and you've got all the ingredients for a world-class yoga retreat in Italy.
Can we host a business retreat or workation?
Yes, and more businesses are doing this every year. Maniero offers high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property, a beamer for presentations, plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces for workshops and brainstorming sessions, and all the fun activities your team needs to actually bond (padel tournaments are unbeatable for team building). The combination of productive work environment and genuine Italian lifestyle — long lunches, good wine, real relaxation — means your team leaves energised and connected rather than burnt out.
Can we rent Maniero for a family holiday?
Absolutely, and it's one of our favourite ways to use the property. Maniero is perfect for multi-generational family holidays, big friend-group trips, or birthday celebrations. The villa sleeps up to 18 across 8 bedrooms, and the estate has enough activities to keep everyone entertained for a week without leaving the grounds. Pool, padel, beach volleyball, arcade hall, trampoline, playground, outdoor cinema, pizza oven, BBQ — it's basically a private five-star resort that feels like home. And with the Adriatic Sea just 25 minutes away, you've got beach days covered too.
Is the villa suitable for families with young children?
Very much so — we have kids ourselves, so we've thought of everything. The estate is fully fenced and gated for safety. We provide cots, high chairs, baby baths, toys, and safety gates. There's a dedicated outdoor playground with a trampoline that kids go mad for, and the arcade hall keeps older children entertained for hours. The pool area has plenty of space for supervision, and the terraces are designed for those long, lazy family lunches where the kids can run around while the adults enjoy another glass of wine. We can also arrange professional nannies if you want some adults-only time.
Can we use Maniero for a photoshoot or film location?
Yes. Our modern, luxurious interiors and stunning outdoor spaces provide the perfect backdrop for brand photoshoots, fashion campaigns, lifestyle content, product photography, and film productions. We can assist with creative concepts, provide styling guidance, and help coordinate the logistics. The combination of Italian countryside, boutique interiors, and natural light makes Maniero a photographer's dream. If you're looking for a location in Italy that doesn't look like every other villa on Instagram, get in touch.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as possible. We only host around 10 events per year, and dates fill up quickly. For weddings, 12–18 months ahead is ideal, though we've accommodated shorter timelines. For retreats and holidays, 6–12 months is recommended, especially for peak summer dates. If you're serious about Maniero, don't wait — get in touch, let's have a chat, and let's lock in your date.
Holidays
Q: How much does it cost to rent Maniero Montecassiano for a week?
€21,000 for seven nights, sleeping up to 18 guests. That works out to €3,000 per night regardless of season. Cleaning, taxes, linen, pool maintenance, wifi, and use of all amenities are included. No hidden fees.
Q: Is the rate really flat all year?
Yes. €3,000 per night in August is the same as €3,000 per night in October. We don't do seasonal pricing tiers because we think they're confusing and unfair. The only thing that changes is availability — summer weeks book up faster.
Q: What's included in the nightly rate?
Exclusive use of the entire 4-hectare estate, the main villa sleeping 18, all amenities (padel court, 20m pool, sauna, jacuzzi, indoor arcade, outdoor cinema, pizza oven, playground, gym), linen, cleaning throughout the stay, utilities, high-speed wifi, parking. No surprise add-ons.
Q: How many guests can stay at Maniero?
Up to 18 in the main villa across 8 bedrooms. An additional apartment on the estate sleeps 2 more, so maximum overnight capacity is 20. For weddings or events, we can host up to 100 guests for the ceremony itself.
Q: What's the minimum stay?
Typically 3 nights, though we prefer week-long stays and offer our best availability to guests booking a full week or longer. Minimum stay can vary by season — email us for specific dates.
Q: Is Maniero good for families with young children?
Yes — it's one of the things we're best known for. The entire estate is gated and fully fenced, the playground is enclosed, we have cots, high chairs, baby baths and safety gates available, the pool has a separate shallow area, and the indoor arcade hall keeps kids entertained for hours. We're parents ourselves.
Q: Does Maniero really have a private padel court?
Yes. It's a professional-standard padel court with night lighting, included in the rental rate at no extra charge. Equipment is provided. We can arrange coaching on request. We believe we're the only private luxury villa rental in Italy with a dedicated outdoor padel court.
Q: How far is Maniero from the nearest beach?
25 minutes by car to the Adriatic coast — specifically to Sirolo and Numana on the Riviera del Conero, which are considered two of the best beaches in central Italy. Porto Recanati, another coastal town, is also 25 minutes away.
Q: Which airport should I fly into?
Ancona Falconara (AOI) is 40 minutes away and has direct European flights. Bologna is 2 hours, Rome is 2.5–3 hours, Perugia is 1 hour. We can arrange private airport transfers on request.
Q: Can I book Maniero directly without going through a marketplace?
Yes, and we prefer it. Booking direct means you deal with us (Fabrizio and Amber) from first enquiry to check-out, no middlemen, no marketplace commissions, and you get our personal attention throughout. Email or use the form on our website to check availability.
Q: Is Maniero also available for weddings and retreats?
Yes. We host up to 10 events per year across weddings, retreats, and private holidays. Wedding packages start at €15,995 for villa-only hire and €35,000 all-inclusive.
Q: Do you have reviews?
5.0 stars from 11 reviewers on Google. Additional reviews on Airbnb, Plum Guide, and the other platforms we're listed on.
A quick note on the 10 bonus FAQs
There were also 10 additional holiday FAQs from the snippet pack I built you earlier (the ones covering pets, chefs, wifi speed, events, air conditioning, getting from Rome or Milan, retreats, best time of year, walking-distance restaurants, and Le Marche vs Tuscany). Want me to paste those here too so you have the full 22-question set? They'd make a more comprehensive FAQ page if you want to go all-in — but the 12 above are the core set and completely sufficient on their own. Your call.
