How to Host a Yoga Retreat in Le Marche, Italy
How do you host a yoga retreat in Le Marche? Group size, best months, budget per person, food and teachers: a practical guide for retreat leaders.

To host a yoga retreat in Le Marche, you need three things: a private place to sleep and practise, a teacher, and someone to feed everyone well. At Maniero that means up to 18 participants in the villa, an outdoor yoga deck among the olive trees, and a private chef for full board on request, with the villa rental from €3.500 a night (minimum 5 nights). The rest is choosing your dates, building a simple daily rhythm and doing the maths per person.
Here's how we'd plan it, step by step, without the incense-scented fluff.
Why Le Marche for a yoga retreat?
Because it's quiet in the way that actually matters. Le Marche sits between the Apennines and the Adriatic, with rolling hills, hilltop towns and far fewer tour buses than its famous neighbour. From Maniero, the beaches of Sirolo and Numana are 25 minutes away, Ancona airport 40 minutes, and the old town of Montecassiano 4 minutes. So your group can arrive easily, then forget the outside world exists.
The other reason is food. Marchigiano cooking is built on olive oil, vegetables and simple, good ingredients, which makes it a natural fit for a retreat menu. More on that below.
How many people can join, and how does the space work?
The villa sleeps 18 adults across 9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, so most participants will share a room. Plan your pricing around that from day one. Two more things to know before you design your programme:
- The estate is yours alone. No other guests, no time slots, no strangers wandering through your savasana.
- Retreats are for the group staying in the villa. We don't host day events or drop-in classes, so everyone on your retreat sleeps on site. That's also what keeps the atmosphere calm.

For practice, there's the outdoor yoga deck with views over the countryside, and yoga mats are ready when you arrive. For recovery: a 20 m pool, sauna, cold plunge, jacuzzi and an indoor gym. For the evenings, a beamer, a sound system and high-speed Wi-Fi if you're teaching theory, journalling sessions or showing a film. You can take a look around in the virtual tour before you commit.
When is the best time of year for a yoga retreat in Le Marche?
For outdoor practice, spring and early autumn are hard to beat. Climate averages for nearby Ancona on the coast give a good idea:
| Month | Average high | What it feels like |
|---|---|---|
| May | about 21 °C | Fresh mornings, green hills |
| June | about 26 °C | Warm, long evenings |
| July–August | about 28 °C | Hot: practise early, swim after |
| September | about 24 °C | Warm days, sea still pleasant |
| October | about 19 °C | Cooler, golden light |
These are long-term averages, not a promise, so keep a plan B for a rainy morning (ask us when you book). Our nightly rate is the same all year, so the season is purely about what suits your practice. One honest note on dates: we only host around 10 stays a year, 2027 is fully booked, and we're now taking requests for 2028 and 2029.
What does a yoga retreat in Le Marche cost?
The villa rental is €3.500 per night, or €24.500 for a week, with cleaning, linen, utilities, Wi-Fi, taxes and all the facilities included. Shared between 18 participants, that's about €195 per person per night for the accommodation and the place to practise.
On top of that, you budget for what your retreat needs:
- Food: a private chef for full board, or just a few dinners, arranged on request through our trusted suppliers
- Teaching: yourself, or an experienced local yoga instructor we can put you in touch with
- Extras: massages, airport transfers, a padel clinic, excursions
Maniero offers no services itself; we only rent out the villa. Chefs, teachers and therapists are independent partners, so they quote you directly and their prices are theirs to set. Ask them early so your retreat price is built on real numbers, not hope.

What does a typical day look like?
There's no fixed formula, and that's the point: you shape the programme. But if you want a starting rhythm that works for most groups:
- Morning: practice on the deck before it gets warm, then a long breakfast
- Late morning: free time, the pool, or a workshop in the shade
- Lunch: something light and local from the chef
- Afternoon: rest, sauna and cold plunge, or a gentle second session
- Evening: restorative practice or meditation at sunset, then dinner together
Keep one day free in the middle of the week. Your group will want to see the coast or a hill town, and a little space makes the second half of the retreat deeper. Our guide to things to do near Maniero has the places we'd send them.
Want to mix it up? Plenty of groups add padel between sessions. Our private padel court is free for guests for the whole stay, and you can read how a padel retreat at Maniero works.
What will your group eat?
Retreat food in Le Marche doesn't have to be sad. Think local vegetables, olive oil, fresh pasta, legumes and fish from the Adriatic, with Verdicchio for anyone who isn't on a detox. Our catering partners are used to vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free menus, so share your group's dietary needs early and the chef will build around them.

Ready to plan your retreat?
Send us your group size, your ideal month and roughly what your participants expect, and we'll tell you honestly whether Maniero fits. Have a look at our retreats page and the FAQ first, or simply get in touch. We reply within a day.
