Planning a Destination Wedding in Le Marche: What the Timeline Actually Looks Like

So you're thinking about getting married in Italy. Maybe you've been scrolling through Tuscany venues for months and the prices made you choke on your espresso. Or maybe someone mentioned Le Marche and you thought — where?
Good. That's exactly how we want it.
Le Marche is Italy's best-kept secret, and honestly, we'd like to keep it that way. But if you're seriously considering a destination wedding here, let us walk you through what the process actually looks like. Not the glossy brochure version — the real one.
Step 1: The First Visit (12-18 Months Before)
This is where we do things differently.
Most venues will show you around for 30 minutes, hand you a price list, and send you on your way. We make you lunch.
When you visit Maniero for the first time, we sit down together. We eat. We talk. We want to know your story, what kind of wedding you're dreaming of, how your family dynamics work (yes, it matters), and what actually matters to you.
We take all the time you need. No rushing, no pressure, no sales pitch. By the end of lunch, you'll know if this is the right place — and so will we.
Step 2: Booking & Getting Organised
Once you've decided Maniero is the one, we lock in your dates and get to work.
If you don't have a wedding planner yet, we'll connect you with ones we trust. These are people we've worked with, who know the property, know the region, and won't waste your time or money.
This is also when you'll start thinking about your guest list. Which brings us to...
Step 3: Send Out Your Invites
Destination weddings need more lead time than a Saturday afternoon at your local town hall. Your guests need to book flights, arrange time off work, and mentally prepare for the best holiday of their lives.
We usually recommend sending save-the-dates as early as possible — 10-12 months out if you can. Give people time to plan. The ones who really want to be there will make it happen.
Step 4: Meet the Suppliers
Here's something that might surprise you: we don't take commissions from suppliers.
We connect you directly to caterers, florists, photographers, musicians — all local, all people we genuinely recommend. We do this because we think commissions create bad incentives. We'd rather point you to the best people, not the ones paying us a kickback.
You'll start building your vendor team around 8-10 months out. We'll make introductions, share contacts, and help you navigate who does what in a region you've probably never been to.
Step 5: The Second Visit & Detailed Planning
This one's fun.
Around 4-6 months before the wedding, you'll come back to Maniero — but this time with a plan. Together with your planner, we'll walk the grounds day by day, hour by hour.
Where will the ceremony happen? Under the olive trees or by the pool? Where do guests have aperitivo? Where does the band set up? What happens if it rains?
We figure all of this out on the ground, not over email. You'll leave with a clear picture of exactly how your wedding weekend will unfold.
Step 6: The Tasting
One of the best bits.
Your caterer will prepare a full tasting — not just a few bites, but the actual menu you're considering. You'll eat, you'll drink, you'll probably change your mind three times about the pasta course.
This usually happens 2-3 months before the wedding. It's also a great excuse to come back to Italy.
Step 7: Wedding Weekend
And then it's here.
Your guests arrive. Some of them stay at Maniero with you — 8 bedrooms, 18 people, everyone under one roof. Others stay in Montecassiano (a gorgeous hilltop village 5 minutes away) or by the coast in Sirolo.
You've got the whole place to yourselves. Pool, padel court, arcade room, 400 olive trees, and three days of the best food and wine you've ever had.
This is why people do destination weddings. Not for the photos — though those will be incredible — but for the experience. A weekend where your favourite people aren't just attending your wedding. They're sharing it with you.
